How it works

  1. Get the PDF from your bank

In your online banking, open Statements and download the official PDF statement for the month you need. Statements your bank emails you work too — what matters is that the PDF contains real, selectable text.

  2. Drop it in and check the result

The converter reads the statement's layout, finds the date, description, amount, and balance columns, and rebuilds your transactions as a table. Review the totals against the statement's own summary — money in and money out should match to the cent.

  3. Download the CSV

Choose a single signed Amount column or separate Debit and Credit columns, then download. The file opens in Excel or Google Sheets and imports cleanly into QuickBooks, Xero, Wave, and most other accounting tools.

Tips for a clean conversion

Frequently asked questions

Is my bank statement uploaded to a server?

No. The PDF is read and converted entirely inside your browser using code that runs on this page. Your statement never leaves your device, which is how a tool handling bank statements should work — you can even load this page, disconnect from the internet, and convert offline.

Which banks does this work with?

Any bank whose PDF statements use a standard transaction table with date, description, and amount columns — that covers most major banks and credit unions, including Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Capital One, Citi, US Bank, and TD. Layouts vary, so always spot-check the result against the statement totals; every cell is editable if a row needs fixing.

What's the difference between the Amount and Debit/Credit formats?

A single Amount column shows money out as negative numbers and money in as positive — the format most spreadsheets and personal-finance tools expect. Separate Debit and Credit columns put withdrawals and deposits in their own columns with no negative numbers, which some accounting packages (and many bookkeepers) prefer for imports.

Why did a few transactions come out wrong?

Bank statements are designed for reading, not for machines — amounts occasionally sit in unexpected columns, and some banks print running balances only on some rows. The converter flags rows that look incomplete, and you can correct any figure directly in the table before downloading. Verifying the Money in / Money out totals against the statement summary catches nearly every issue.

Can I convert a scanned (image) PDF?

Not with this tool — it reads the text layer of the PDF, and a scan has no text layer. Download the digital statement from your bank's website instead; it's the same document, but with real text that converts accurately.

Does it handle statements with many pages?

Yes. Upload the full multi-page PDF and all pages are processed in order. Page headers and footers are detected and left out of the transaction list.
